Gestures & Motion

There’s more to Wrist Assistant than tapping. Here’s every interaction the app supports.

Tap — Toggles devices, activates scenes, runs scripts. Haptic confirmation on each tap.

Long-press — Opens the radial quick menu for the tile. Hold time is adjustable (75ms–300ms). From the same long-press, slide up / down / left / right to fire one of the tile’s hold-and-slide actions. Use the Entity Settings action (in either the radial menu or a hold-and-slide direction) to open the entity view.

Swipe — Left and right to switch pages.

Double-tap top section — Double-tap the page title or top area to run an assigned action. You can use it for Room Jump, Toggle Aimed Entity (Point Control), Activate Scene, Run Script, Refresh, page switching, or Toggle First Tile. Set it up in Settings → Interactions.

Edge swipe — Swipe from the bottom edge of the screen to switch pages or advance through scrolling content. Enable and adjust sensitivity in Settings → Navigation. The sensitivity slider lets you tune how hard a swipe has to be to register — helpful if you’re triggering it by accident while scrolling.

Close X on peek overlays — When a status page or peeked page is open, a close button appears at the top of the screen. Tap it (haptic + sound feedback confirm the gesture) or swipe down to dismiss and return to where you were.

Twist your wrist clockwise or counter-clockwise to trigger actions without touching the screen. Motion gestures have their own enable toggle, sensitivity controls, and per-direction actions.

Assign each direction to Toggle Aimed Entity (Point Control), Run Script, Activate Scene, Refresh, Next Page, Previous Page, Toggle First Tile, or Disabled. Scene and script actions can target a specific scene or script, so they work from any page.

Start with Low sensitivity and work up. Too sensitive and normal arm movements trigger it. Set it up in Settings → Interactions, then configure headings in Settings → Rooms under Room Mappings.

Double-pinch your thumb and index finger to trigger an action. Works when your hands are full. Set it up in Settings → Interactions and assign Toggle Aimed Entity (Point Control), Activate Scene, Run Script, Next Page, Previous Page, Room Jump, Refresh, Toggle First Tile, or Disabled. If you use Point Control, configure headings in Settings → Rooms under Room Mappings.

Requires Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, or newer. Note: double-pinch is slower than wrist motions due to how Apple processes the gesture.

Every interaction has haptic feedback — taps, slider steps, success, failure, entering quick menu slots. Useful for adjusting lights in a dark room without needing to see the screen.

Sounds are also available across six interaction types — tile taps, menu opens, slide-to-icon, arc slider ticks, success/confirm, and cancel/dismiss. Choose from a library of 120+ built-in sounds — each interaction type can have its own. Master volume is adjustable from 0–100% (with a dedicated Silent preset), and individual sounds can be customized per action. Set up under Sounds in Settings → Interactions.

Any tile can require a confirmation before toggling — an “Are you sure?” prompt that prevents accidental activations. Especially useful for garage doors, locks, and alarm panels. Set it up in the editor.
