Your First Page
You’re connected. Time to build a layout.
Create a Page
Section titled “Create a Page”On the Pages tab, tap Add Page — you’ll drop straight into the editor for your first page. The editor has a watch-shaped preview at the top, a side toolbar on the right (with the + Add button), and a tab bar at the bottom for the selected tile: Icon, State, Size, Style, Page. To rename the page later, tap its name on the Pages tab card.
Add Your Devices
Section titled “Add Your Devices”For a brand-new page the editor opens empty and the + Add button glows on the right-hand toolbar — tap it to open the Add Entities overlay. Pick a category — Controls (lights, switches, locks, covers, fans, and more), Climate, Media, Automation (scenes, scripts, automations), Sensors, or Inputs — to open its picker, check the entities you want, then tap Add to drop them on the page together. Reopen a category to add more, or use Search All Entities at the bottom to find anything by name or entity ID. The overlay reopens after each add so you can keep going.
Good first picks:
- A few lights you toggle daily
- Your front door lock
- The thermostat
- A scene like “Good Night” or “Movie Mode”
- A camera for your front door (bump the size up in the Size tab)
Arrange and Customize
Section titled “Arrange and Customize”Drag tiles to rearrange — put your most-used ones near the top. Tap a tile and use the tab bar to change its Icon, State display, Size, or Style. When you’re happy, tap Save (top right).
Add More Pages
Section titled “Add More Pages”Back on the Pages tab, tap Add Page to create another, then tap its card to open it in the editor. Drag cards to reorder. Each card shows a small watch-shaped thumbnail of that page’s tiles, so you can recognize pages at a glance before tapping in. Create as many as you want — “Favorites” and “All Lights”, or “Downstairs” and “Upstairs”, whatever matches how you think about your home.
Try It on Your Watch
Section titled “Try It on Your Watch”For the initial sync, make sure both the watch app and the iPhone app are open and in the foreground.
Once synced, try these interactions:
- Tap a light to toggle it on/off.
- Long-press a light for the quick menu — keep your finger down and slide to an icon without lifting. The action opens with your finger still down. Adjust the value and lift your finger when you’re happy. To cancel, slide to the red X and let go. Try brightness first.
- Open the entity view — long-press the light, then slide to the Entity Settings slot in the radial menu (or assign Entity Settings to a hold-and-slide direction in the iPhone editor). Swipe left/right along the bottom to page through settings.
- Swipe left to see your next page.
- Tap a scene to activate it.
Next Steps
Section titled “Next Steps”Once you’ve got a page you like, there’s a lot more to explore:
- Layout Editor — Full reference for the editor. Icons, colors, patterns, borders, animations, visibility rules, multi-select.
- Quick Menu — Radial shortcuts you reach by long-pressing a tile. Adjust values, switch pages, trigger scenes, peek a status page — all without lifting your finger.
- Complications & Widgets — Put data on your watch face and toggles in Control Center.
- Status Pages and Page Peek — Glance-and-dismiss overlays for home summaries and whole pages.
- Rooms — Map Home Assistant areas to pages. Auto-switch on room change, jump to current room, per-room Point Control.
- Smart Pages and Template Tiles — Pages and tiles that build themselves from Home Assistant state.
- Gestures, Voice Control, Cameras, Themes, Backup & Restore, and more in the sidebar.
