Quick Menu Editor

The iPhone app has four tabs: Pages, Quick Menu, Widgets, and Settings. The Quick Menu tab is where you build the watch’s radial menus, with a live preview of the radial that updates as you edit.

The Quick Menu tab is split into three editors.

The Universal Quick Menu — the global set of up to 8 “anywhere” slots. On the watch you reach these by long-pressing a tile and sliding to the center + scrolling the Digital Crown, or by long-pressing empty space on a page. Add, arrange, and style each slot (action, icon, color) and watch the radial preview update. These slots are shared everywhere — they aren’t tied to any one tile.

Each slot can fire a range of actions — Trigger Entity (activate scenes, run scripts, toggle lights, press buttons), Go to Page, App Info, Status Page, the built-in voice and remote actions, and Run HTTP Action to fire a request from your HTTP Actions library. The same action choices are available in every quick-menu editor below.

The slots shown when you long-press a tile. A By type / Specific entity switch at the top of this tab chooses what you’re editing.

By type (default) — pick a device type — light, switch, cover, media player, climate, and so on — then arrange the slots that every entity of that type inherits. Set it once for “light” and all your light tiles get the same quick menu.

Specific entity — give a single entity its own menu, separate from its type’s. Useful when one entity needs different actions than the rest of its kind — for example, an “All Office Lights” group that should expose scene, effect, or Run HTTP Action slots the other lights don’t. Under Custom Entity Menus:

  • Tap Add an entity… and pick the entity.
  • Its new menu starts as a copy of that entity’s type menu, so you begin from a familiar layout.
  • Edit it like any other menu. From there it’s independent — later changes to the type menu don’t affect it.
  • Each customized entity shows in the list with an Editing badge while selected, and a delete button that removes its custom menu so it falls back to the type menu.

When you long-press an entity on the watch, the app uses the most specific menu available: the entity’s own custom menu if it has one, otherwise its type menu.

The global look of the radial, applied to both menus: glow intensity, beam effect, entrance animation, neon outline, finger shadow, icon bubble, and background dim.
