Rooms
Rooms map Home Assistant areas to Wrist Assistant pages. Walk into the kitchen and your kitchen page loads. Sit down in the living room and Point Control knows which devices are in front of you. Assign a gesture and jump to the current room’s page from anywhere.
What You Get
Section titled “What You Get”- Auto page switching — Move between rooms and Wrist Assistant follows
- Room Jump gesture — A double-tap or double-pinch that takes you to your current room’s page
- Per-room Point Control — Each room has its own calibrated device zones
- Fallback page — Pick what shows when the sensor can’t decide which room you’re in
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Wrist Assistant needs a room sensor — any Home Assistant entity that reports your current area. Common options:
- Bermuda BLE Trilateration — Tracks your Apple Watch via Bluetooth and reports the room
- Motion sensors with a template sensor that picks the most recently triggered area
- NFC tags placed at doorways
- Any custom sensor whose state matches your room names
When the sensor’s state changes, Wrist Assistant looks up which page is mapped to that room and switches to it (if auto-switch is on).
In the iPhone app, open Settings → Watch Behavior → Rooms.
- Pick your room sensor — Under Detection, tap Room Sensor and select the HA entity that reports your current area. The list of rooms below auto-populates from your Home Assistant areas.
- Assign pages — Under Your Rooms, expand a room and pick the page it should map to.
- Pick a switch trigger — Under Page Switching, turn on Switch Pages by Room and choose When to Switch: Automatic, Double-Tap Top, or Double Pinch.
- Set a fallback page — Under Page Switching, pick what to show when no room is detected (stay on current page, first available page, or a specific page).
- Calibrate Point Control (optional) — Open a room’s Point Control Entities to add entities and capture headings from your usual spot. See Point Control.
Room Jump
Section titled “Room Jump”When Switch Pages by Room is on, the trigger you pick is what jumps you to the current room’s page:
- Automatic — Switches as soon as the room sensor reports a new area
- Double-Tap Top — Double-tap the top of the screen to jump
- Double Pinch — Double pinch your fingers to jump
The three options are mutually exclusive — pick the one that fits how you want to navigate.
Auto Page Switching
Section titled “Auto Page Switching”Set When to Switch to Automatic and Wrist Assistant switches pages as soon as your room sensor changes state. The other two options keep page switching manual via a gesture — useful if you’d rather not have the page change out from under you while you’re using it.
Rooms + Point Control
Section titled “Rooms + Point Control”Point Control stores a separate set of device zones per room. Calibrate each room from where you usually sit, and Wrist Assistant loads the right mapping based on which room you’re in. Point at a light, twist your wrist, toggle.
- Start with just 2–3 rooms to get a feel for how the sensor behaves before adding more
- If room detection feels laggy, check whether your sensor updates frequently enough — Bermuda can be tuned for faster updates
- Multiple rooms can share the same page — pick the same page in each room’s picker if they should look the same
Next Up
Section titled “Next Up”- Point Control — Aim your wrist at devices and toggle them
- Smart Pages — Auto-populate a page from all devices in a room
